#2635 swamp writes .swamp/audit into the current directory when --repo-dir or SWAMP_REPO_DIR points elsewhere

Opened by stack72 · 9/28/2026· Shipped 9/28/2026

Running swamp from a git worktree with --repo-dir (or SWAMP_REPO_DIR) pointing at the main checkout still creates .swamp/audit/commands-.jsonl in the current directory. That half-created .swamp/ has no .swamp.yaml, so the next swamp command run there without a repo dir fails with: Found a .swamp/ directory ... but no .swamp.yaml marker — the repository appears partially initialized or corrupted. Expected: the audit log goes to the repository named by --repo-dir, and nothing is written to the current directory. Seen with swamp 20260927.012109.0 while working swamp-club #2625.
