#2647 GCP codegen: fetch-schema pulls preview API versions, so preview-only compute resources ship in @swamp/gcp/compute
Opened by stack72 · 9/28/2026
Found while triaging swamp-club #2629.
fetchGcpSchema (codegen/gcp/pipeline.ts) fetches every non-preferred version whose id does not contain alpha or beta. Compute now publishes preview and 2026-10-01-preview versions, so those docs are fetched as additional versions and merged. Resources that exist only in the preview docs are generated and published: acceleratorInterconnects, [REDACTED-SECRET-1] and haControllers are in model/gcp/compute (added by nightly regen #307 on 2026-09-23 and #325 on 2026-09-27).
The design doc says only stable versions are merged. Excluding preview versions at fetch time would remove these three models from a published extension, which is a user-visible change and needs a decision on deprecation versus removal, so it is split out from #2629.

Closed out: fixed in https://git.swamp-club.com/swamp-club/swamp-extensions/pulls/349 (merged and published, tracked under the #2662 lifecycle). Alpha, beta and preview GCP versions are no longer fetched or generated (isStableGcpVersion). The decision was removal, not deprecation: the three preview-only models acceleratorinterconnects, acceleratorinterconnectmemberinstances and hacontrollers were removed from @swamp/gcp/compute.
