#2677 gatorwalk-factory: Linear adapter lets a response-body timeout escape as a raw error

Opened by skunk-ape · 9/29/2026· Shipped 9/29/2026

Found in verify-reviews on swamp-club #2664 (PR #352). In gatorwalk-factory/extensions/models/_lib/linear.ts, graphql() wraps fetch() in try/catch and maps a network failure to TrackerError kind upstream. But the AbortSignal.timeout also covers reading the body, and the later response.text() call is outside that try. If Linear sends headers and then stalls, the timeout surfaces as a raw DOMException (TimeoutError), not a TrackerError. Callers relying on the five tracker error kinds (the GW-17 projection publisher will) then see an unclassified failure. Fix: wrap response.text() in the same mapping (kind upstream, naming the timeout), and add a linear_fake mode that sends headers and then stalls, with a test using a short timeoutMs.
