#3066 data_query_stale_limit_test fails on Linux: a limited page returns names in b, a order
Opened by skunk-ape · 10/6/2026· Shipped 10/6/2026
Description
integration/data_query_stale_limit_test.ts (added in swamp-club#2985, commit 38c63d15) fails deterministically on this Linux host, on a clean checkout of main and in the verify-build worktree, so every verification run here reports gate.allPassed false regardless of the change under test.
Observed
The test queries two records with limit 2 and expects names a, b. The query returns them as b, a:
[Diff] Actual / Expected
{
limited: true,
names: [
- "b",
"a",
+ "b",
],
total: 2,
}Reproduced three times in a row with deno run test integration/data_query_stale_limit_test.ts. Platform: Linux 7.2.5, ext4, Deno pinned in .tool-versions, swamp main at d9670e54.
Expected
Either the query orders a limited page deterministically (by name or createdAt) so the assertion holds on every platform, or the test sorts the names before comparing if page order is not part of the contract. The other recent PRs passed verification on their authors' machines, so the order likely follows a platform-dependent iteration order (directory listing or catalog row order) rather than a defined sort.
Impact
Blocks the verification gate for any PR verified on an affected machine. Found while verifying swamp-club#3027.
