01README

Menswear fit advice grounded in Derek Guy's (@dieworkwear) thread corpus, read through Thread Reader App. Focus: the larger / stocky figure ("кабанчик") from the thread "DRESSING FOR LARGER MALE FIGURES". Figure definitions and a curated, tweet-cited rule set ship as bundled reference files; the corpus is fetched at runtime into swamp data.

Methods:

  • discover — crawl the author's thread index (paginated, newest first)
  • fetch — fetch threads by id or index-preview regex into the corpus (idempotent)
  • figure — classify a body from measurements (kabanchik / big-tall / athletic / slim / average)
  • advise — ranked fit checklist with tweet citations; optional claude -p narrative over the corpus
  • extract — mine new tweet-cited rules from fetched threads via claude -p (resumable)
  • critique — check an outfit photo against the figure's rules via claude -p vision

ArgumentTypeDescription
maxPages?numberPages to crawl (~20 threads each)
since?stringStop once threads are older than this ISO timestamp
fn fetch(ids?: array, match?: string, limit?: number, refresh?: boolean)
Fetch threads into the corpus: explicit ids, and/or index entries whose preview matches a regex. Skips threads already fetched unless refresh=true.
ArgumentTypeDescription
ids?arrayThread (first tweet) ids
match?stringCase-insensitive regex over index previews (needs `discover` first)
limit?number
refresh?boolean
fn figure(heightCm: number, weightKg: number, chestCm?: number, waistCm?: number, hipsCm?: number, inseamCm?: number)
Classify a body figure from measurements (kabanchik / big-tall / athletic / slim / average).
ArgumentTypeDescription
heightCmnumberHeight in cm
weightKgnumberWeight in kg
chestCm?numberChest girth, cm
waistCm?numberWaist girth, cm
hipsCm?numberHip/seat girth, cm
inseamCm?numberInseam, cm
fn advise(figure?: string, includeExtracted?: boolean, synthesize?: boolean, question?: string, threadIds?: array)
Ranked fit checklist for a figure (alias like 'кабанчик', or the last `figure` result), with tweet citations. synthesize=true adds a claude -p narrative grounded in the fetched corpus.
ArgumentTypeDescription
figure?stringFigure id/alias; defaults to the latest `figure` classification
includeExtracted?boolean
synthesize?boolean
question?stringFree-form question for the synthesis step
threadIds?array
fn extract(threadIds?: array, refresh?: boolean)
Mine structured fit rules from fetched threads via claude -p into the `rules` resource (resumable: threads already processed are skipped unless refresh=true).
ArgumentTypeDescription
threadIds?array
refresh?boolean
fn critique(imagePath: string, figure?: string)
Check an outfit photo (local path) against the figure's rules using claude -p vision.
ArgumentTypeDescription
imagePathstringAbsolute path to a local image
figure?string

  • Adds second-hand buying rules for larger figures (Mr Porter / Put This On, retold): buy by measurements, what can be altered, portly/stout cuts.
  • Bundled rules can cite a non-X source (sourceUrl); figures take a rulesFiles list. Adds ethandesu "Gravitas" (2017) trouser/tailoring rules for big builds.
