01README
Convert Claude Code skills into swamp workflows: finds registry extensions for the services a skill uses, has Claude plan the conversion, then writes the workflow, scaffolds missing extension models, and optionally pulls the extensions.

fn parse(path: string)
Read a skill (SKILL.md file or skill directory) and extract its structure
| Argument | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| path | string | Path to a SKILL.md file or a skill directory, absolute or relative to the repo |
fn discover(extraQueries?: array, useClaude?: boolean, perQuery?: number, pinned?: array, maxExtensions?: number)
Search the swamp-club registry for extensions covering the services the skill uses
| Argument | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| extraQueries? | array | Additional registry search queries |
| useClaude? | boolean | Ask Claude for service names and queries; when false, only detected CLI tools and extraQueries are searched |
| perQuery? | number | Registry hits kept per query (1-25) |
| pinned? | array | Extensions always included in the catalog regardless of search results (e.g. the LLM integration to use for judgment steps) |
| maxExtensions? | number | Extensions hydrated with type metadata for planning (1-40) |
fn plan(localTypes?: array, guidance?: string, maxRepairs?: number)
Ask Claude for a conversion plan grounded in the discovered catalog, and validate it
| Argument | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| localTypes? | array | Model types already installed in the target repo that the plan may use (from `swamp model type search --json`) |
| guidance? | string | Extra instructions for the conversion (scope, naming, constraints) |
| maxRepairs? | number | Times Claude may revise a plan that fails validation (0-3) |
fn apply(workflowsDir?: string, extensionsDir?: string, overwrite?: boolean, install?: boolean, validate?: boolean)
Write the planned workflow and extension scaffolds into the repo, and optionally pull extensions
| Argument | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| workflowsDir? | string | Where to write the workflow, relative to the repo |
| extensionsDir? | string | Where to write model scaffolds |
| overwrite? | boolean | Overwrite existing scaffold files (the workflow file is always updated in place, keeping its id) |
| install? | boolean | Run `swamp extension pull` for each planned extension |
| validate? | boolean | Run `swamp workflow validate` on the written workflow and record the result (expect failures for extensions not yet pulled) |

Convert a Claude Code skill into swamp automation: parse the SKILL.md, find registry extensions for the services it uses, have Claude plan the conversion (via the local claude CLI), then write the workflow and extension scaffolds into the repo and optionally pull the extensions.
convertparse → discover → plan → apply on one converter instance
1.parse— Read the skill and extract its structure
2.discover— Search the registry for extensions covering the skill's services
3.plan— Have Claude produce and validate a conversion plan
4.apply— Write the workflow and scaffolds; pull extensions when install is true
