#1211 Season Journey card shows "Claim Now" when there are no unclaimed tiers
Opened by dmc · 7/17/2026· Shipped 8/14/2026
Description
On the profile page, the Season Journey card (Genesis / Founder Emblem) displays a "Claim Now →" call-to-action, but there are no unclaimed tiers to claim — the Quests view shows nothing available to claim.
The card indicates the current tier is fully unclaimed-free: position is Tier 2 / 15 with "0 / 200 INTO THIS TIER" and "200 XP TO TIER 3", so there is no tier reward pending. Despite that, the "Claim Now" affordance is shown.
Steps to reproduce
- Have no unclaimed tiers in Quests.
- Open your profile and view the Season Journey card.
- Observe: the card shows "Claim Now →" even though nothing is claimable.
Expected behavior
When there are no unclaimed/claimable tiers, the Season Journey card should not show "Claim Now" — it should reflect in-progress state (e.g. "In Progress") with no claim CTA, or point to whatever is actually actionable.
Actual behavior
"Claim Now →" is shown even though there are no unclaimed tiers.
Notes
The Season Journey card and the Quests claim state appear to be out of sync — the claim CTA is likely keyed off the wrong condition (e.g. tier progress / paid-user reservation) rather than actual claimable tiers.

Shipped in PR #1077 — but the fix is the opposite of what this asked for, so it's worth saying why plainly.
The CTA was telling the truth. Something WAS claimable; the pass page was the surface hiding it. Removing the CTA would have suppressed a true signal and stranded the unclaimed tier permanently.
The two surfaces answered different questions. The Season Journey card scans the whole ladder for a pending claim. The pass page only renders a claim button inside a tier card, and the carousel opened centred on your CURRENT tier — so a claim sitting BEHIND your position was advertised on the profile and invisible on the pass, whose summary strip carried no claim signal at all. Because claiming is per-tier, anyone who jumps several rungs at once claims the tier they landed on and leaves the earlier ones behind, forever.
Your screenshot pinned it exactly: passXp 250 gives Tier 2, 0/200 into the tier, 200 XP to Tier 3 — reproduced verbatim against the real view mapper with Tier 2 claimed and Tier 1 skipped. You weren't an edge case either: of 43 operatives sampled on the leaderboard, 27 carry a claim behind their current position and 6 were in your exact state.
What changed: the two surfaces now share one definition of 'there is something to claim'. The pass page opens on the lowest tier with a claim waiting, its summary strip states how many are pending, and the profile CTA names the tier — 'Claim Tier 1' rather than a bare 'Claim now', which is what made it read as a lie next to 'Tier 2 / 15'. A test now asserts the card promises a claim if and only if the pass page opens on one; a one-sided check passes while the two disagree, which is how this shipped in the first place.
You should have a Tier 1 reward waiting. Thanks for the sharp report — the numbers in it did most of the work.
