#3187 access grant create: --methods is silently dropped on the local path, so an allow grant covers every method

Opened by stack72 · 10/8/2026· Shipped 10/8/2026

Problem

swamp access grant create --methods <list> keeps the method scope only through --server. Run locally, the flag is parsed (src/cli/commands/access_grant.ts, the methods const) but never passed to the grant model: the local modelMethodRun inputs omit methods, while the --server payload includes it. The grant is saved with no methods, so it applies to every method.

For --allow, this grants more than the operator asked for: an allow meant for one method allows all of them. For --deny, it denies more than asked (fails closed).

Reproduce

Installed binary 20261007.214606.0-sha.b352b2cf, fresh repo:

swamp access grant create --subject user:bob --allow run --on model:@acme/x --methods deploy
swamp access grant list --json # bob's grant has no methods field

No error or warning is shown.

Expected

A local grant create --methods deploy stores methods: [deploy], the same as the --server path. Add a regression test that the local path passes methods through.
