From the UI review on #1412.

components/profile/ShowcaseEditor.tsx: the caption character counter ({caption.value.length}/{CAPTION_MAX}) under the Caption textarea in the profile Edit panel's Showcase section isn't linked to the field and isn't a live region. Screen-reader users typing a caption don't hear the count, and the limit isn't programmatically tied to the field.

Fix: give the counter <p> an id (e.g. showcase-caption-counter) and aria-live="polite", and add aria-describedby="showcase-caption-counter" to the textarea. The Lore counter in islands/ProfileEditor.tsx already has aria-live but no aria-describedby; worth fixing both together. The native maxLength still caps the input, so nothing truncates silently; this is about announcing the count.
