#3271 Windows: extension install legacy migration finds zero files

Opened by stack72 · 10/12/2026· Shipped 10/12/2026

swamp extension install legacy layout migration finds 0 files on Windows. The test pulls an extension, moves files back to the pre-migration extensions/models/ layout, runs repo upgrade, then checks that files were migrated to .swamp/pulled-extensions/. assertGreater(files.length, 0) fails because the migration found nothing to move. 1 UAT failure in extension/lifecycle/legacy_migration_test.ts. Discovered via Windows UAT runner swamp-uat#363.

Test side: the UAT test has forward-slash assumptions — searches for /models/ and splits on lastIndexOf("/") which fail on Windows backslash paths. Fixing in swamp-uat. Product side: classifyExtensionFile in layout.ts only recognises old-layout prefixes with forward slashes. A lockfile written on Windows has backslashes so entries classify as current instead of gen-1, preventing migration. This needs a narrow fix in the classifier to normalise separators. Keeping open for the product fix.
