#3336 Docs: show the full --literal-inputs warning, including Raw:, in the model definitions reference

Opened by stack72 · 10/12/2026

What changed

swamp-club#3321 (swamp PR #3040, released in 20261012.223858.0-sha.6ada06a5) fixed the warning that --literal-inputs logs when an input holds expression text. Its Raw: part used to drop a brace. It now prints the raw text exactly, in quotes, like every other value swamp logs. The path is quoted as well.

Page to update

content/manual/reference/model-definitions.md, around line 1289. The example warning stops before Raw: because the old output misquoted the input.

Suggested content

Quote the full line as the current release prints it for --input 'text=${{ env.HOME }}':

[WRN] swamp·expressions: Refusing to evaluate expression at "methods.execute.arguments.run": it was not written in the definition or workflow source, so it arrived as data content. Left as literal text. Raw: "${{ env.HOME }}"

Note that the path and the raw text are shown in quotes.

Fixed in swamp-club#1339: the --literal-inputs warning example in reference/model-definitions now shows the quoted path and the full Raw: "${{ env.HOME }}".
