#3445 Manual: working-with-data copy button copies a truncated data query

Opened by stack72 · 10/14/2026

content/manual/tutorials/working-with-data.md:400 writes the command as data-cmd="swamp data query 'tags.type == "resource"'". HTML does not treat a backslash as an escape inside an attribute, so the attribute ends at the first inner quote: Playwright reading the parsed DOM shows the copy button copies swamp data query 'tags.type == \ and nothing more. Write the inner quotes as ", as the other copy-cmd blocks do (e.g. tutorials/remote-execution.md:246). It's the only data-cmd in content/manual using backslash-quote. Found while working on swamp-club#3433.

Fixed in https://github.com/swamp-club/swamp-club/pull/1349: the data-cmd uses ", and manual_copy_cmd_test.ts now refuses a backslash-escaped quote in any data-cmd. Note: the copy button reads the code block, not data-cmd, so on the dev stack it copied the full command; the attribute was still malformed HTML.
