Thanks. I guess 2. was because I saw it on another profile and assumed they were generally visible to other logged in users. Probably looked at a swamp team profile. Some other random profiles don't have them visible.

Yes this is a toggle in your user profile. A checkbox Broadcast comms shows your email address to other people if enabled. We could make that clearer.
