#3343 datastore_v3_read_model_test: two swamp-club#3337 tests fail on Linux (Expected function to reject)

Opened by skunk-ape · 10/13/2026· Shipped 10/13/2026

Two tests added by #3048 (swamp-club#3337) fail on a Linux host at origin/main dedbc467, every run, alone or in the full suite:

  • read model: a commit whose unsynced keys cannot be recorded is not recorded as applied (integration/datastore_v3_read_model_test.ts:544)
  • read model: when SQLite rolls a page back itself, the error that caused it is the one reported (integration/datastore_v3_read_model_test.ts:611)

Both fail with AssertionError: Expected function to reject. The other 35 tests in the file pass.

Host: Linux x86_64, Deno 2.9.7 (the pinned version). Not caused by TMPDIR on tmpfs: the same failure with TMPDIR on ext4/btrfs.

Both tests inject a SQLite trigger on INSERT into unsynced_keys and expect catchUp to reject. The likely cause is that on Linux catch-up never inserts into unsynced_keys for this scenario (the #3337 change was measured on macOS), so the trigger never fires. Either the tests need a scenario that records unsynced keys on every platform, or the platform difference is a bug in the read model.

Impact: verify-build fails on Linux hosts for every branch based on current main.

Repro: deno run test integration/datastore_v3_read_model_test.ts
