#1834 Leaderboard is confusing to new users

Description:

The leaderboard lacks enough context for a new user to understand what it represents. When I started using Swamp, it was unclear:

  • who or what appears on the leaderboard, especially because many entries use abstract names;
  • how rankings are calculated;
  • what purpose the leaderboard is intended to serve.

I later figured out that it tracks people who use the Swamp CLI and that it uses telemetry from the CLI.
I suppose its purpose is to encourage adoption in a playful way, but the page should confirm or correct that interpretation instead of leaving users to guess.

Expected behavior:

Add concise documentation on or next to the leaderboard that explains:

  1. What is ranked and which CLI activities or metrics count.
  2. How those metrics become a score or ranking, including the relevant time window.
  3. Why the leaderboard exists.
  4. That its data comes from CLI telemetry.
  5. Swamp's telemetry philosophy: telemetry is enabled by default, what is collected for the leaderboard, and where users can find the available opt-out controls.

Why this matters:

The leaderboard is difficult to interpret without this context. Explaining its telemetry source nearby would also help users understand the data collection and make an informed choice about opting out.

Possible presentation:

A short explanation on the leaderboard page with a link to fuller telemetry documentation would keep the page concise. A tooltip alone would be less discoverable and would not provide enough room to explain collection and opt-out behavior.
