#706 No self-serve way to rename username (sntxrrgithub -> desired sntxrr) after GitHub SSO signup

Opened by sntxrrgithub · 6/19/2026

My account was provisioned via GitHub OAuth and was assigned the username sntxrrgithub (email is also auto-suffixed: sntxrr+github@gmail.com). I'd like to rename to sntxrr.

  • Confirmed sntxrr is unclaimed: https://swamp-club.com/u/sntxrr returns 404 (SIGNAL_LOST), so this isn't a collision.
  • Checked my profile page (https://swamp-club.com/u/sntxrrgithub) — no edit/settings affordance for username there.
  • Checked the swamp CLI (auth, access, config, repo subcommands) — no rename capability exposed.
  • Per #50, username rename is a known supported app-level operation (chooseUsername() in lib/auth.ts, cascades to personal org slug + telemetry identity_map + user_scores) — but I can't find where to trigger it as an end user.

Account: userId 6a357e5be867d85598a43983, current username sntxrrgithub, personal org slug sntxrrgithub.

Could either:

  1. Point me to the existing self-serve rename UI if one exists and I'm missing it, or
  2. Add one if it doesn't, or
  3. Have an admin run chooseUsername() for my account to sntxrr.

@sntxrr this has been fixed for you. Self serve is not going to happen.
